Since 2012 I have been working with the Marketing and Sales Director and Owners of Door County Coffee to create new product line packaging including the K-Cup launch in 2014. I was given the project without the knowledge of this type of product, so research and collaboration and listening to the client talk about this product helped with a successful launch. We started the process with only 6 flavors to test the market. We created the packaging with the shelf space in mind. I made prototypes and placed them in the shelf spaces at several retail stores to see their effectiveness against the competition. After reviewing the design we were satisfied with the results and proceeded with the project, which found much success in retail stores such as Wal-Mart, Woodman’s, Younkers, and many outlets throughout the northeastern region. Since the launch we have developed holiday boxes and expanded the flavor choices to 17 different varieties. Stemmed from this we worked on variety boxes and other various displays to place the boxes in at retail stores.
